*NOTE: I just fixed the link to the movie preview. Our YouTube link was bad for an undetermined period of time. It is now working.
I just found this movie preview on YouTube thanks to an outside commenter, Kileen, who is a Whitewater native and former resident of Wells East. It appears the movie’s writers combined several items of Whitewater folklore (which were mentioned in our Halloween 2007 post) and fact and smashed them together to make a movie script.
2007 was an eventful year for the Alumni Association. Here is a quick re-cap:
March: We re-launched this website in a new, easy to use format.
April: We started receiving pictures from Delta Kappa and Chi Delta Rho Brothers to be shared on the website!
May: There was a great House Cleanup and remodeling session…
We started acception Donations for the Alumni Association online, via our secure PayPal connection…
Our first Interview with Alumni Association President, Martin Hoke.
June: We ran our first-ever online donation campaign, Recolonize in 5, yielding almost $1,000 for the recolonizing of Lambda Chi Alpha at Whitewater! Thank you to all donors!
July: We posted our first of many Composites for all to enjoy
August: We received images of the Chi Delta Rho / Delta Kappa Reunion Luncheon from the Wisconsin Dells…
We won the 2007 Website Development Award at The Leadership Seminar!
October: The Alumni Association ran the first-ever (anywhere!) Online North American Food Drive, collection $1,150 which was donated to the Whitewater Food Pantry. The conversion was 8,050 lbs. making our total #38 out of all 80 reporting Lambda Chi Alpha Chapters!
November: The news of Brother Tom Boelk stepping down as Chapter Advisor…
The first Now & Then photos of our Fraternity Houses that have been occupied in Whitewater. Many thanks to Brothers Mingo Nicks and Chris Zimbrick for taking the Now photos.
We started a Facebook group, which now has over 71 of our Brothers linked together!
December: The Alumni Association hosted Christmas Cards online for all Brothers to see…
Brother Bill Hamilton sent us a stack of Chi Delta Rho photos from the 60s!
It’s been a great year and we look forward to an even better 2008 (with the Recolonizing of Lambda Chi Alpha in Whitewater!)
Thanks to everyone who continues to support the Alumni Association and this website with funding and content!
An e-Christmas Card from our Academic Advisor, Paula Mohan. Click the image above to see the e-Card. Many thanks to Paula for her continued support of our Fraternity!

We received this very nice Christmas Card and Thank You Note from Marilyn Keinbaum, Director of the Whitewater Food Pantry. She has been very appreciative of the $1,150 donation we made to the WWFP from our North American Food Drive.
She also enlclosed this photo of Alumni Association President, Marty Hoke.

The Whitewater Warhawks will be playing for the Division 3 National Championship, this Saturday. The XXXV Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl features The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater vs. Mount Union College (Ohio). It marks the first ever back-to-back-to-back meeting in Stagg Bowl history.
The Stagg Bowl is set for Saturday, December 15, at Salem Stadium in Salem, Virginia. Game time is set for 3:00 p.m. CDT) and will be televised live on ESPN.
Best of luck to our Warhawks!
Our Facebook group has hit 50 members. In just a couple months, we have already accumulated 50 of our Brothers. If you haven’t joined Facebook, I highly recommend it. While the average users of Facebook are under 30, the largest growth in Facebook members is 30+
Remember, our Facebook group is a “Members Only” group and you must be invited or request to gain access.
Feel free to comment to this post or contact me directly with questions on how to join our group or Facebook, itself.
The following is a note from our Academic Advisor on the UW-Whitewater campus, Paula Mohan, regarding Greek System Reforms.

SOLICITING ALUMNI FEEDBACK ABOUT HOW BEST TO REFORM THE GREEK SYSTEM AT UWW
The report issued by the NIC consultant’s study on how greek relations function on the UWW campus has been released and university officials are seeking feedback from alumni members, House corporation members, and anyone with an interest in UWW-Greek relations. The Blue Ribbon Commission on Greek Reform will convene after feedback is provided, will look at the input provided, and will write up a list of recommendations for changes in how the Greek system operates, due by February 15, 2008. (more…)
The Alumni Association has put together a Facebook group for all Lambda Chi Alpha Brothers from Whitewater. If you are a Lambda Chi from Whitewater, we want you to join. The group is members only, so be sure to click the button on Facebook to request membership. You must have an active Facebook account to join the group.
Click here to go to our Facebook group.
We currently have over 25 of our Brothers in the group and more joining every day (I believe 10 have joined this week, alone). Group members can upload images, video and post items about themselves, what they are doing and general Chopper talk.
Some of the Brothers I have been excited to catch up with on Facebook are: Al Florence, Peter Jacquin, Ken Schuldt and Matt Nelson.
Do you have no idea what Facebook is? Click here to read the Wikipedia entry explaining it

We appreciate your interest and continued support of the recolonization efforts for the Lambda Chi Alpha chapter at UWW. We have shared many things as brothers… we now share the responsibility of rebuilding our chapter.
Our goal for the Recolonize in 5 campaign was to raise $1,000 and we surpassed our goal! Please visit our Donors Page to see who has donated to the Alumni Association and be sure to add yourself to that group of Brothers by giving back to our Fraternity, which has given so many great memories and opportunities to us all!
On behalf of Martin Hoke (President of the Alumni Association) and all future Brothers of Lambda Chi Alpha in Whitewater, we thank you for your donations!
I wasn’t aware that there is/was a Lambda Chi Alpha Day until I stumbled upon this flickr image that Lambda Chi Headquarters has in their image grouping.
Click on the thumbnail to read the full text written by John E. Mason in regards of Lambda Chi Alpha Day (celebrated on March 22, 1913).
Let’s plan to re-live this celebration, March 13, 2008!
I have added a Frappr! map to the site. You can follow this link. Put a pin in the map with your location so that we can see where you and all of our Brothers are located. Please add you Initiation designaton and number, as well!
Hey guys,
I hope you are all enjoying the pre-summer months. I am in Phoenix on business and wanted to write a little something to let you know that I am gathering content for the site from members of the Alumni Association and Housing Corps.
For those who didn’t know, Housing Corps. and the Alumni Association used to be the same entity. During the Recolonization process, the duties of both were split into seperate groups, allowing more Brothers to be involved on different levels and splitting the work in more managable ways.
If you would like to get on the mailing list for the Alumni Association, please respond to this post, just comment and use your real email address in the required field and I will contact you personally.
For those who want to get involved with the Alumni Association and/or Housing Corps. keep your eyes peeled to this site as information is forthcoming! Be sure to let all Alumni know that the website will be updated regularly with information about Alumni Activities, Profiles, Recolonization and other items.
The Brother Directory that we all had come to know in love is not gone, it is just hidden. We are tweaking some of the specifics so that you will be able to fix your own entries within the database. I am also in the process of revamping the login process. Once it is fixed, you will be required to re-sign up for the directory using your iota number.
If there are any features that you would like included in the database, please list them in the comments section below.

Of course, we are always open to new ideas and featured content. If you are interested in writing content for the website or have ideas for pieces, please email Jeff or Fuzz.
