A message from the new Housing Corporation President, Don Reinbold

The Housing Corporation is holding a house clean-up on Saturday September 13th beginning at 8am. The work will be general outdoor maintenance (mowing, working with mulch, etc).

We will work from 8am until noon. Please come to help, stay for as long as you can.

Also, I will need someone to be at the house at or before 8am, since I may be unavailable until 9am.

I look forward to seeing you at the House on Saturday the 13th.

A message from High Pi: Nick Weisensel

I will be at the Big Ten Pub in Madison tailgaiting for the Badger game, this Saturday, the 6th. I will be there at 11 a.m. if anyone wants to meet up. Leave a comment here if you need to get in touch with Nick about the festivities.

Below is our schedule for Fall Recruitment (some of this is subject to change):

Sunday, September 21 - Recruitment Team arrives on UW-W campus
Monday, September 22 (4:30-6:15pm) - Reception with school
Tuesday, September 30 (TENTATIVE) - 1st Associate Member Ceremony
Wednesday, Oct 1 - Mon, Oct 6 - Recruitment Team on staff retreat in West Virginia, return to campus on the 6th
Friday, Oct 17 - Recruitment Team leaves UW-W campus. Colony will operate on its own for several weeks
December 1 - 7 - Recruitment Team returns to campus for Pre-Initiation week. Initiation is that Saturday.

A great time was had by everyone in attendance at the 2008 Fraternity Reunion at the Great Wolf Lodge in the Wisconsin Dells on July 16, 2008.

From my count there were nearly 30 Chi Delta Rho, Delta Kappa and Lambda Chi Alpha Brothers from pre-1970 who attended the luncheon. The guys are looking forward to next year’s reunion and hope for an even bigger crowd and newer members to attend, as well!

Points of Discussion:

1) *Alumni Mentors for Undergraduate Officers* - the Goal is to establish a relationship between the alumni and the undergraduate members, to keep stronger control and oversight, and to spread the responsibility of oversight across several members rather than a single Hi Pi. The assignments may change as we move forward - but we need a starting point and National has asked that this be settled by August so they are in place as we move forward.
If you want to review these positions you can go to www.lambdachi.org http://www.lambdachi.org - then choose the “undergraduate tab” and the “Officer Resources tab.” There you will find a list of officer positions and their individual responsibilities along with support materials.

2) *Discuss the house and the improvements coming for this fall*. I am pursuing the Home equity line of credit and looking for additional input and to formulate a plan for moving forward.

3) *Housing Corp Meeting / Alumni Association meeting*. There are a few business type discussions that have to take place as we reorganize for moving forward in regards to officer and operating plans for these two organizations. We have generally pushed thee two together into one pot - but as we move forward these two groups will have distinctly different rolls. I will appreciate your input.
