Monday, April 21st, 2008

The following is an open invitation to the summer get together, organized by the Class of 1961.

Chi Delta Rho / Delta Kappa Lunceon 2007Greetings Brothers,

The date is set and we hope that you will all mark you calendars to attend. The date and location are:

Wednesday July 16
Great Wolf Lodge
Wisconsin Dells

This notice is just to make everyone aware of the date ect. The event will be the same, meet before noon, visit, have lunch, visit and then be on our way.

Every one is invited and last year we had 29 Bros and 17 ladies attend. As of now I have heard from Dave Engen that he will be attending. All of you other non Wis[consin] guys make your return trip to be here for the Lunch.

Please reply with your plans to me and I will keep everyone posted, the more attending will encourage others.

All Brothers are welcome at this luncheon. This includes Delta Kappa, Chi Delta Rho and Lambda Chi Alpha members, everyone. Ladies are welcome as well!

The reply is not a reservation so no cost is incurred, and we do not need reservations so you can come by just showing up.

More details and directions will follow.

Fraternally,

Return to Whitewater

Wednesday, April 16th, 2008

So, what happens next?

First the Dean of Students needs to approve our return.

Pending that approval, a visit from our International Headquarters Recruiting Team to put together an interest group on campus. The goal is to get a group of 20 men who would be the new base of Lambda Chi Alpha in Whitewater. From there, the Colony Process begins.

When can all of this start?

The Recruitment Team will be on campus starting Sept. 20th, 2008. There are more specific details about the timeline, which will be presented in a future post.

Fraternity Archives

If you have items you would like to have archived, be it Yearbooks, Fraternal antiquities, Membership Badges, please use the Contact Us page to send me, Jeff, an email about your item(s) and I will provide you the address to send them to.

Our goal is to keep items for a running history of our organization throughout it’s tenure at UW-Whitewater. From the creation of Beta Kappa Nu in 1929, to Chi Delta Rho, Delta Kappa, back to Chi Delta Rho and finally Lambda Chi Alpha…we feel it is important to preserve our history and share it with all of our Brothers, friends and the University. The men of our organization have contributed so much to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and to one another. We do this to recognize our combined effotrs and contributions.

Many thanks to Delta Kappa Brother Dwane Kamla of Janesville, WI.

Dwane has recently supplied the Fraternity Archive with color copies of the Whitewater Minneiska Yearbooks from 1953-1959, specifically the covers and all pages mentioning Delta Kappa.

Chi Delta Rho Song

Here is the first archival piece of Chi Delta Rho I want to share, which I received from the Milton College Preservation Society. It is the Chi Delta Rho Song. Chi Delta Rho: Gamma Chapter

Thursday, February 21st, 2008

I have been in communications with the Milton College Preservation Society about the Gamma Chapter of Chi Delta Rho which existed there while Milton College was still in operation. The MCPS has been very accomodating and has taken the time to send us copies of Chi Delta Rho materials and photographs.

These items will help us in putting together a complete history of our Fraternity, as well as the history of Chi Delta Rho as a Fraternity.

Many thanks to the Milton College Preservation Society for these photos and other materials. Some of our Chi Delta Rho Brothers may recognize some people/places in these pictures.

Birthdays all around

Sunday, February 17th, 2008

BirthdayCakeWith over 950 Lambda Chi Alpha Brothers, it’s often hard for many of us to keep up with one another’s birthdays.

Fuzzy has written a great application for the website which displays the names of Alumni who have a Birthday in the current month. Be sure to scroll down the page and see the list of Alumni Birthdays in the right column.

Chi Delta Rho: Wikipedia

Friday, February 15th, 2008

WikipediaI have begun the process of adding Chi Delta Rho as an official entry in Wikipedia.

If anyone can offer any important information about Chi Delta Rho, please comment here or use the Contact Us page to send me a message with the relevant information.

Things I am looking for:
- A list of all Chapters (schools)
- Official Colors, Mottos, Slogans, Values, etc
- Was there a headquarters?

…I am planning to add a Delta Kappa entry to Wikipedia as well, once the Chi Delta Rho page is underway and has some “guts” to it.
