Recolonizing Fundraiser

DonationsI am pleased to announce that the Alumni Association is having a fundraiser to support the efforts of Recolonizing Lambda Chi Alpha on the Whitewater campus! From today, June 15th through July 15th, donations made to the Alumni Association through this website will be used in the Recolonization process and to support the Alumni Association. We have assembled a team to prepare a website, print, radio and tv materials for use in Whitewater to aid Recolonizing and get Lambda Chi’s name back on campus.

Donating is easier than ever with the new PayPal system we have set up. Click the “Make a Donation” button on the top-right side of this page. Track our Fundaising donations with the Lambda Chi Thermometer…and keep your eyes peeled to the Donor List page that lives on this site. (You can also access the Donor List through the link on the right navigation, as well).

Our goal is $1,000. Please give whatever you can. Even $10 will add fuel to our efforts of bringing Lambda Chi back to Whitewater!

Business Meeting & Recolonization Summit

Below is a letter from Paula Mohan regarding the next business meeting and recolonization efforts:

Hi everyone,
We’d like to hold another business meeting on tuesday, june 5th, at 7;00 pm in Whitewater to discuss the recolonization process, to catch up on the latest news, and to plan for a general meeting in August between alumni, university officials, and representatives from Internationals. We’ll be meeting in 2013 Winther Hall. Winther is located on Prairie Street and parking is free in lot 14- (accessible from both Starin Rd and Prairie Street)- after 6:00 pm. (See map for details: http://www.uww.edu/Campus/). Because there is a lot of construction taking place on campus, Starin Rd will be closed periodically, so be prepared for that possibility if you come in that way).

You can see it just below the words Help the Alumni Association. Your help is needed: House projects May 5th

This message is from Lambda Chi Alpha House Corporation and the Alumni Association.

As many of you know, the house had a substantial water damage incident over the winter to rooms 1, 2 and the TV room. The boiler failed causing the radiators to crack in rooms 5, 6 and 7. All of the radiator leaks filled the house with water. We had to hire contractors to gut the rooms mentioned above to the studs, rip out all of the carpeting in the entire house and start over. To compound the problem the boiler failed and needed to be replaced. All of this damage was not covered by insurance and we had to eat everything. We have restored rooms 1, 2 and the TV room back to good standing. Now these rooms need to be painted and the entire house needs a major cleaning (from vacancy and construction) for 5 prospective student tenants Tom Boelk has lined up for 6/1/07.
