Re-Colonizing FAQ

This page has been created to address all questions regarding the Re-Colonizing of the Lambda-Iota Chapter of Lambda Chi Alpha at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

If you have a question, please post it as a comment in this thread or email it via the Contact Us page.

Questions will be posted here, along with the best answer that is available.

When will Lambda Chi Alpha be back on UW-Whitewater’s campus?

Technically, Lambda Chi Alpha is back on campus right now. We were accepted back as a student organization as of the end of the Spring 2008 Semester. However, we have no members.

When will we have members?

Recruiting of new Lambda Chi men will take place in Fall 2008.

Since we have no Active members, who is doing the recruiting?

Lambda Chi Alpha Headquarters is sending a specially trained team of recruiters to UW-Whitewater beginning September 19th. Our Lambda Chi recruiters will be on campus for 3 weeks. During the first 2 weeks, they will seek out and interview potential members who meet specific membership requirements. During the 3rd week, the recruiting team will select and train officers.

Do we, as Alumni, get to choose new members?

Yes and no. If you have a suggestion of a potential member, please send us an email and we will pass the name along to the recruitment team. Beyond that, the recruiting team will have final say in who is accepted into the Chapter.

What are the specific qualifications the recruitment are looking for in new members?

There is a list qualifications that the new Colony will need to have to receive a Charter. It would be safe to assume that all new members will need to fit these requirements.

When will the House have Lambda Chi Alpha men living in it?

That question is currently being addressed by the Housing Corporation. Check back here or contact any of the Housing Corps. Officers for a specific answer.

Is there anything I can do to help with Recolonizing?

Yes. Here is a list:
1) Email names of potential recruits we should contact
2) Continue to donate money to help with advertising and other recruiting efforts
3) Contact Jeff via the Contact Us page for specific (and easy) jobs he needs help with
