The Alumni Association and the Housing Corporation cordially invite all of our Brothers to attending Homecoming 2008 in Whitewater. All Lambda Chi Alpha, Chi Delta Rho, Delta Kappa (and Beta Kappa Nu) Brothers are encouraged to come and tour the renovated Lambda Chi Alpha House, meet up with your Brothers and share stories from the “good ole’ days”.

-The House will be open the House at 9am (416 West North Street – Whitewater, WI).

-The Homecoming Parade starts at 10am with free water, soda and light food provided by the Alumni Association and Housing Corporation.

-We will leave the House at 12:30 for the football game, kickoff at 1pm.

Everyone is on there own after the game.

On this Memorial Day, we would like to remember all of our Brothers who have served our Country with Honor, Pride and Bravery.

This year, we would like to honor all of our Brothers, names unknown, who gave the ultimate sacrifice in the name of the United States.

Our goal is to keep items for a running history of our organization throughout it’s tenure at UW-Whitewater. From the creation of Beta Kappa Nu in 1929, to Chi Delta Rho, Delta Kappa, back to Chi Delta Rho and finally Lambda Chi Alpha…we feel it is important to preserve our history and share it with all of our Brothers, friends and the University. The men of our organization have contributed so much to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and to one another. We do this to recognize our combined effotrs and contributions.

Lt. Eldon Broman: Chi Delta Rho (1942)

We recognize Brother Broman’s courage and perseverance as a World War II pilot and Prisoner of War.

I first learned of Brother Broman and his experience while reading the 1944 Whitewater Minneiska Yearbook. Further research yielded a publication titled “B-17s Over Berlin: Personal Stories from the 95th Bomb Group (H) “by Ian Hawkins which includes a full account of Brother Broman’s story, in his own words. The recount tells of Brother Broman piloting a B-17F Bomber over Germany which was shot down, his undercover travels through Holland under an assumed identity, his capture by Nazi SS troops and finally his release as a Prisoner of War. (I will print a better account when my copy arrives).

Did you know that Lambda Chi Alpha is the 2nd oldest Fraternal organization in Whitewater? Only surpassed by Phi Chi Epsilon, Lambda Chi Alpha has roots as a Fraternal organization that goes back to 1929!

I have begun to compile our local history of an organization in Whitewater. Currently, I have all entries from Whitewater’s Official Yearbook, The Minneiska, from 1932-1990. This details the history of our organization, begining with a Fraternity known as Beta Kappa Nu, to Chi Delta Rho, to Delta Kappa, back to Chi Delta Rho and finally becoming Lambda Chi Alpha.

As I put together a complete history and map out all of the houses our Fraternity(s) have used throughout the years, I ask all of you to contribute any information you have to this effort. I am specifically looking for documents, photographs and other items that would prove useful in this documentation.
