“In recognition of the hard work, sacrifice and dedication of High Pi Nick “Pokes” Weisensel, the men of the Lambda Chi Alpha-Whitewater are proud to sponsor the 2nd Annual Pokesapalooza Golf Outing”

Last year’s event was so successful; we’re hoping to outdo ourselves this year. In order to do that, we need your participation.

This event is open to all brothers of Delta Kappa, Chi Delta Rho and Lambda Chi Alpha who attended Whitewater between the years 1929 and Present.

This year, the 2nd Annual Pokesapalooza is moving to the scenic and beautiful Bridges Golf Course and Restaurant in Madison WI. Tee times start at 10:54am and are on a first come, first serve basis. Cost will be $60 per golfer for 18 holes and $40 for 9 holes. Both prices include cart rental

Contact Rick Lyon at to sign up. Make sure to get your foursomes in before July 2, 2011. Remember, tee times are on a first come first serve basis. If you don’t have a foursome, don’t worry, we will accommodate you. Make sure you put Golf Outing in the subject line of the email.

It’s that time of year again.  Soon, spring will arrive and the days will  get longer.  The temperatures, warmer.  Spring is the season of Rebirth and Renewal. It’s the time of the year when flowers burst forth from the ground and leaves return to our trees. It’s the time of year when younglings emerge from their hibernation sleep and take their first steps out into the world.  What better time then, for us to celebrate the Rebirth and Renewal of Lambda Chi Alpha- Lambda Iota Zeta.  To that end, we will be holding the 2nd Annual Alumni Reunion Formal this spring.

This year, we have so much to celebrate and be thankful for. We have finally achieved Colony Status after 3 long, hard years of work by High Pi Nick Wiesensel and the men of the interest group. It is because of their hard work and dedication that we are able to say proudly… We’re Back!  In addition to this phenomenal feat, we have also finally become able to reconnect with over 1/3 of our alumni base, and that number grows daily.  As we move forward in life, it’s important that we take a moment and look back at where we came from, to remember those moments in our life that made us the men we are today.  We should take the time to reflect on those bonds of brotherhood that were forged in Whitewater and designed to last a life time.

Join us as we prepare to initiate our newest brothers into the bond of Zeta Alpha Chi, and share with those who came after you and in doing so, relive your youth.  Reconnect with your brothers, old and new as Lambda Chi Alpha Lambda Iota Zeta moves toward the future.  Help us show the newest brothers in the bond the meaning of True Brotherhood.  LAMBDA CHI ALPHA……. NOT 4 YEARS, 4 LIFE.

Formal will be held in one of Geneva National Golf Resort’s beautiful and spacious Banquet halls. Dinner will be catered, and those in attendance will have their choice of Chicken or Pork Rack. Start time for the event is set for 5pm. More information on the night’s activities can be found below.

    Thursday, November 13th, 2008

(L-R) Brother Martin Dunbar, Chancellor Telfer, and Mrs. Bobbi Dunbar (Alpha Sigma Alum)

Brother Martin Dunbar (Lambda-Iota 2) and his wife, Bobbi, greeted new UW-Whitewater Chancellor Richard Telfer at an Alumni get-together in Dallas, TX. The event took place on November 11, 2008. Warhawk football was a big topic of conversation. Brother Dunbar was pleased to find that Chancellor Telfer taught at the high school in Elkhorn (Wisconsin), where Martin grew up.

Update: Tom Kempfer is ‘Stuck in a Truck’

    Monday, October 20th, 2008

UPDATE: Tommy is still stuck in the truck.
It’s down to 3 contestants, Tommy being one of them! I flipped on the site last night and saw “Mel” get out of the truck around 9:10pm (Oct 23…21 days after entering the truck!)

Tommy won the six hour break this past thursday and wanted to send thanks to any and all of our Brothers who voted for him- it meant a lot to him. He and the other three contestants are now settling in for the long haul and Tommy is determined to win. The organizers told them that these contests typically run as long as 45-75 days and Tommy, since he works on commissions, has arranged so that he can stay as long as he needs to in order to win. He welcomes visitors any time anyone can stop by at the Kayser Ford office on the beltline off the Todd Drive exit in Madison. He’s doing fine and has read more books in the last two weeks than he has read in the past four years. On election day, each of the remaining contestants will get a six hour break to vote and each of them plans to still be there then.
Brother Tom Kempfer is ‘Stuck in a Truck’. He is participating in a contest with 96.3 Star Country WMAD , where he is trying to outlast other contestants by spending his days and nights inside of a truck! The winner takes home Ford F-150. I believe the contest began on October 5th and will go on as long as it takes. Tommy can be seen on camera (warning: camera contains audio and video, parental discretion is advised).
Thanks to Brother Mark Volz for this story!
