Brothers Darren Hafford, Michael “Fuzz” Martin, Derek Blaszak, Peter Reynolds, Chris Zimbrick, Andy LaSusa, Kirby Fitch, Mingo Nicks, Anthony Nigbur are now Lambda Chi Alpha Alumni. (Although Darren and Fuzz had been Alumni for a few years).
***ADDITIONS: Matt Marver is also graduationg. My apologies. And extra congrats to Matt, who was in school for a year or 2 when I was in Whitewater (for one reason or another! haha).
Also, Brother Andrew Ullrich is being awarded his degree by the University in a ceremony separate from that of all other graduates. His parents will be accepting the diploma on his behalf. It will be held on Sunday, May 18, 2008 from 11:00am – 2:00pm in the Old Main Ballroom at the UC. Everyone is invited, light refreshments will be served.
My name is Nick Weisensel, and as many of you know, I have been chosen as the new Alumni Advisor (High Pi) for our Chapter in Whitewater. First, thank you for this opportunity, it means the world to me. I am very excited to be the next Alumni Advisor for Lambda-Iota Zeta. To assume the role that our Brother Tom Boelk as held for over 2 decades is a daunting task to say the least. Let Tom’s giving of himself serve as an example and inspiration to what it means to be a True Brother and Active Alumni Member. My goal is that when I am succeeded by another High Pi, that my name be mentioned with the same reverence as that of Tom Boelk.
Brothers, we are experiencing a very exciting time in our Chapter’s history. Lambda Chi Alpha is returning to Whitewater’s campus because of the reputation that all of us have helped build throughout it tenure. I ask all of you as Alumni Members to help continue this tradition, to assist in passing the tradition of Lambda Chi Alpha on to our new Associate Members in the coming year. When I envision our Fraternity back on campus, I see a Chapter not just of Active Members, but of Alumni Brothers as well.
The Lambda Chi Alpha North American Food Drive will take place in 180 days from today. That may seem like a long way away, but with the summer days coming and the return of Lambda-Iota to Whitewater, it is sure to sneak up faster than we can imagine.
This year, we will have the Undergraduate Colony to work with on the Food Drive. Last year all of you helped the Alumni Association raise $1150 for the Whitewater Food Pantry, equaling 8,050 pounds of food! That’s pretty awesome for a bunch of guys donating from the comfort of their computer desks!
We are actively seeking volunteers to help brainstorm ideas for area sponsors and other fund raising ideas to help Lambda-Iota’s contribution to the Whitewater Food Pantry pass 10,000 lbs of food. We have some great tools set in place to facilitate these efforts, now we just need YOU to volunteer for some online brainstorming.
Will you help our Brothers with our most important philanthropic event?
If so, please leave a comment on this thread and I will get in touch with you, or contact me (Jeff) via the CONTACT US page.
The Dean of Students has signed off and given final approval of our return. Lambda Chi Alpha will begin the expansion process this fall, with a professional recruitment team coming to Whitewater for 3 weeks to build our Colony.
Keep tabs on this website to find out more about this important re-colonizing process.
In a quick phonecall from Brother Mike Easton, it was reported that the presentation before the UW-W Expansion Committee went very well. We are now waiting for final approval, from the Dean of Students, Dr. Tisa Mason.
Many thanks to our Alumni Association President, Martin Hoke for doing such a wonderful job with the presentation.
The presentation to the committee was videotaped and should be available on this website for viewing, very soon.
More details to follow tomorrow…in the meantime, we should all take a moment to think about what each of us can contribute to make the new Colony a success.
Pride, Replacement, Money and Time.
A letter from Brother Tom Boelk.
As you all know, I stepped down as High Pi (Fraternity Advisor) after serving for many years.
I found it very rewarding, but thought it was time for new leadership as we make the transition to recolonize Whitewater. So, I am happy to announce that Brother Nick Weisensel will be stepping up to be the next High Pi for the Lambda-Iota Chapter of Lambda Chi Alpha. Nick attended the Winter Leadership Conference in January 2008 and has been working hard to learn as much as he can to assist the new colony. This will become official as soon as we recolonize and fill out some paperwork, but please join me in congratulating Nick on taking on this important role. I know he will do a great job and I will continue to help him in whatever way I can and hope all alumni will do the same. It’s a very rewarding role, but one that works best with support from all the alumni.

The Alumni Association will be scheduling a business meeting for:
Tuesday, April 1, 2008
215 Hyer Hall
Try to make it to this meeting, if you can, since it will be an important strategy planning meeting. Things are beginning to happen pretty quickly as we move closer to colonization and there are a number of important meetings coming up in the next few weeks/months: meeting with university officials, the presentation before the expansion committee, and a visit with the HQ guys. It is an especially important meeting for those who are on the alumni advisory board, so try to make it if you can. Even if you’ve been unable to make meetings recently, we can bring you up to speed in this meeting.
A letter from our Alumni Association President, Martin Hoke as an addendum to Faculty Advisor Paula Mohan’s request for Alumni Advisory
Some of us attend all the meetings and have been keeping “The Dream” alive since the suspension. Others have not shown as much commitment. I would like to see as many of our Brothers sign on for this important piece to our re-colonization. This is *OUR* fraternity. It is time for everyone who has not been involved since the time of suspension to stand up and take action as we near re-colonization in Whitewater. I have served as Alumni President since the suspension, have attended all the meetings and have attended all the functions (fun and not fun), and I am willing to serve on this important board.
My goal is not to guilt anyone into this effort, but let you all know that the more people we have involved, the less the burden will be on the highly committed few of the past. Please remember what Lambda Chi Alpha means to you and how it has affected your life–please let your conscience guide you in keeping our awesome organization alive and prosperous for future generations. I can only hope that some day my two sons, Ryan and Bryce, will become members of Lambda Chi Alpha, the best fraternity in the world.
I challenge each of you to join me in giving back to the organization that has meant so much to each of us!
If you accept my challenge, please email our Academic Advisor Paula Mohan (email@example.com), who is submitting the application to the University.
