Sorry for lack of post

Friday, August 7th, 2009

My apologies for the lack of posts in the past few months. Of course we all have been busy doing our own things and I won’t attempt to make excuses.

Know that I will be back trying to post up at least 1 item a week.

Upcoming posts include:
1) A re-cap of the Chi Delta Rho, Delta Kappa, Lambda Chi Alpha summer reunion in the Dells.
2) KIDS! Seems like it’s the summer of love, lots of Brothers welcomed new little ones to their lives.
3) A re-cap of the Lambda Chi Alpha Centennial Celebration in Indianapolis (100 years!)
4) Other interesting developments.

Feel free to post your comments here with any questions/suggestions or gripes you have.

Forever in ZAX,

Housing Corporation & Alumni Association Meeting

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

The following is a letter from Housing Corporation President, Don Reinbold regarding a proposed meeting. Please contact Don in regards to your ability to attend the meeting.

Well brothers – I have not heard from more than a single person in regards to the House Corporation and Alumni Assoication Meeting I am trying to scheudle in regards to the future of Lambda Chi Alpha.. That result in and of itself speaks Volumes regarding the chapter rebuilding initiative we began three years ago.

I am calling for a meeting on Tuesday – May 5th in Whitewater or Milwaukee. Besides a change in the By-Laws to protect parties who have secured liability for the Faternity during this rebuilding we will also be discussing new communications from Lambda Chi National that will directly impact our rebuilding efforts and the future existence of Lambda Chi Alpha (And the House) at UW-Whitewater.

I will email a location to all who respond and those that do will control the future and fate of Lamda Chi.

Regards,

Don Reinbold
President Lambda Chi Alpha House Corporation.

Website down for maintenance

Thursday, March 12th, 2009

Our apologies as the Alumni Association website was down for the last 2 days.

We were in the process of moving the website from one hosting company to another. We had hoped the transition would have been seamless. It wasn’t.

Fuzzy and I continue to enjoy providing this site for all of our Brothers from across the decades. We look forward to sharing stories and information about our organization & Brothers for years to come.

Don’t let them get you down…

“Well, you can do whatever you want to us, but we’re not going to sit here and listen to you badmouth the United States of America. Gentlemen!”

Congratulations to our Graduates!

Saturday, December 20th, 2008

Many congrats to our Brothers who graduated from UW-Whitewater this semester! They are Kirby Fitch, Jimmy Harrison. Mingo Nicks and Chris Sattler.

Guys, post a comment here with your post-education aims!

What is a fraternity?

Wednesday, November 5th, 2008

Donald LybargerFrom the November 2008 issue of the Cross & Crescent

“I sometimes ask myself whether Phi Sigma died when it helped found Theta Kappa Nu. I ask again whether Theta Kappa Nu no longer lives since, by its union with Lambda Chi Alpha, it lost its identity. I ask myself what is a fraternity? Is it a name? Is it a house, a national organization? Is it a group of alumni? Is it the active chapter of undergraduates? Of course, it is no one of these; but by the same token it is the sum total of them plus that unending spirit of brotherhood which binds us together.”

– Donald Lybarger
Founder of Phi Sigma Fraternity
(Phi Sigma co-founded Theta Kappa Nu Fraternity, which merged with Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity in 1939).

The Paedagogus – Cenetennial Edition

Thursday, October 16th, 2008

The 51st Edition of the Paedagogus just came out…and highlighting the Centennial of our Fraternity.

The cover of the Paed is a deep green and embossed in gold leafing with the title and the Centennial logo.

The first thing you will notice about this Centennial Edition is that it is printed completely in color! A beautiful surprise, to say the least. Also, this education manual has been updated with all of the latest Lambda Chi Alpha information, logos, officer descriptions, Chapter Histories and other Lambda Chi national information. And while Lambda-Iota Zeta was not an active Chapter while this book was published, there are quite a few obvious (and 1 or 2 subtle) Lambda-Iota references.

Expansion Committee Presentation: April 10th

Tuesday, April 8th, 2008

Lambda Chi Alpha : Lambda-Iota Zeta

Brother Martin HokeAn open letter from Brother Martin Hoke, Lambda-Iota Alumni Association President.

The Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity Alumni Association will meet before the University Expansion Committee on Thursday, April 10th, 2008, at 6:30- 7:00 pm to officially petition to return to campus. The meeting will be held in Room 268 of the University Center.

The presentation compiled by Jeff Reisdorfer will be delivered by me, Martin Hoke-Alumni Association President. After the presentation, members of the Expansion Committee will ask questions, and then another fraternity, also hoping to return to campus after a long hiatus (since 1970), Sigma Tau Gamma, will do their presentation. The Committee will deliberate, and the final recommendation of the Committee will be reached later that evening.

There will be an audience area set up for those people not directly involved with the presentation, for those who want to attend. We also hope to have it taped for those who cannot attend.

Dress is professional. Please email me, Marty Hoke, with questions. (mhoke@uline.com)
