So MANY thanks to Brother Jim Liska for sharing these slides with us! Who knew that scanning slides would be so time consuming! Here are some great photos taken by Brothers Jim Liska, Terry Esrael and others.
You can watch the slideshow here, or click on the images to be taken to flickr.com where you can read the descriptions as they were penned on each slide. My apologies for butchering names, some of them were hard to read. Be sure to keep an eye out for pictures of our mascot Chopper!
Participants left to right: Rob Pfisterer (Bill’s brother), Brother Joe Palmer, Brother Martin Dunbar, Brother Ken Laun, Brother Bill Pfisterer, Dave Morgan (owner of the hunting preserve).
This picture is from Brother Bill Pfisterer. He organized the hunt.
The pheasants were so fat, farm raised, that they could hardly fly. We could have probably caught them by hand. We were much slimmer and faster in those days, but much more hung over!
A big black Pheasant flew over Joe Palmer’s head, he shot at it, and put a hole right through the bird. The hole was the size of a fist, and you could see right through the hole.

This is a completely FREE contest to all UW-Whitewater Lambda Chi Alpha, Chi Delta Rho and Delta Kappa Brothers!
How to play: Everyone who contacts me via email at before Wednesday January 21 will be entered in the contest to win prizes! I will distribute the grid spaces evenly and I will put them in random positions. If there are left over spaces, they will be X-ed out. The grid will be posted here for everyone to see. 2 winners will be selected at half-time and at the end of the game (using those scores). Prizes are each valued at $25+ each. Contest open to Lambda Chi Alpha, Chi Delta Rho, Delta Kappa and Lambda Chi (undergrad) Brothers from UW-Whitewater.
Many thanks to Delta Kappa Brother Charles Wilde for sending us this great photo of the Delta Kappa House at 219 Whiton Street.
Here’s a note from Brother Charles Wilde:
“The photos is of [our] Homecoming house display at our [219] Whiton Street home. It was taken in the late 50s in a year that we played the Eau Claire State College Blue Devils. It was probably 1957 or 1958. I’m not sure if the display was a winner!”
Many thanks to Brother Terry Esrael for sending us this 1967 Lambda Chi Alpha composite. This is the 2nd ever composite of Lambda Chi Alpha at UW-Whitewater.
Check out the first composite appearance of Chopper (in the lower left corner)!

Here are the first 2 issues of The Deltan, the official Delta Kappa National Newsletter.
The Deltan Vol. 1 Issue 1 May 1958
Deltan Vol1 Num2 Dec 1958
Issue 1 has an explanation of the origins of Delta Kappa Fraternity (at Buffalo Normal School in NY). The Fraternity Motto listed: “True leadership is only possible through honorable and upright living.”
Issue 2 includes a recap of the Milton College Convention and expansion ideas. Chapter news for Chi Delta (Whitewater) mentions President Curt Klade’s efforts which led to Chi Delta’s First Place in Homecoming House Decoration & Tom Hamilton’s election as Homecoming Chair. The Chapter won the IFC scholarship placque for the 2nd year in a row and DK’s were the Presidents of the Senior, Junior and Sophomore classes! The Chapter was at a membership of 52!
Many thanks to Brother Don Vande Sand and his family for sharing these with us.
The files are saved in Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) format.
Many thanks to Brother Terry Esrael for sending us this 1966 Lambda Chi Alpha composite. This is the 2nd ever composite of Lambda Chi Alpha at UW-Whitewater. Keep an eye out for the 1965 composites from Brother Esrael, as well!

Here’s a great Delta Kappa Cartoon cartoon which graced the cover of the Chi Delta Chapter’s 1960 Christmas newsletter. I couldn’t make out the artist’s signature in the lower right corner. If you know, please post a comment so I can give proper credit.

Thanks to the Delta Kappa Alumni who donated so many items to the Fraternity Archive during their Summer 2008 luncheon, this is one of the many items we will continue to showcase on our website.
From the Alumni Association:
We will be having Candle Pass on Saturday night, December 13th, at 8pm at the House. All Brothers are encouraged to attend. Post RSVPs and public comments here.
Many thanks to Brother Terry Esrael for these two pins.
First, this great Chi Delta Rho Badge.
This is (what I call) a 2nd Generation Chi Delta Rho Badge, from the years of Chi Delta Rho at UW-W between the Delta Kappa generation and the beginning of Lambda Chi Alpha in 1965. It depicts the 2nd Gen. Chi Delta Rho Coat of Arms/Crest, which was very similar to the original Chi Delta Rho Crest, but was adapted to have 2 elements from the Delta Kappa Crest.
Secondly, Brother Esrael sent a Lambda Chi Alpha letters recognition pin.
Also, Terry sent 3 composites which I will be sharing with all of you, shortly! Thanks again to Brother Terry Esrael for these great submissions to the archives. If you have items you would like included in the archives, please comment here or email me at:
The Alumni Association would like to thank all of you for your continued support. We have worked hard for the last few years to bring Lambda-Iota back to Whitewater and are still committed to that end. With our newly renovated house and the constantly growing interest group, we look forward to the imminent return of Lambda Chi Alpha at U-Dub-Dub.
Many thanks for all of you who donated to the Alumni Association and Housing Corps. at Homecoming. Specifically, we would like to recognize Brothers Nick Schreck, Matt Grace and Tom Boelk for their significant monetary donations to our Brotherhood.

(L-R) Brother Martin Dunbar, Chancellor Telfer, and Mrs. Bobbi Dunbar (Alpha Sigma Alum)
Brother Martin Dunbar (Lambda-Iota 2) and his wife, Bobbi, greeted new UW-Whitewater Chancellor Richard Telfer at an Alumni get-together in Dallas, TX. The event took place on November 11, 2008. Warhawk football was a big topic of conversation. Brother Dunbar was pleased to find that Chancellor Telfer taught at the high school in Elkhorn (Wisconsin), where Martin grew up.
